Six Weeks to Go Until I Take on the North Coast 500

The countdown is officially on, and it’s all starting to feel very real.
This past week has been all about consistency—no fuss, no drama—just showing up each day, sticking to the plan, and putting in the work. It’s been a steady and focused effort, and everything is starting to come together.

On Sunday and Monday, I completed two five-hour training runs, and to my own surprise, they felt really manageable. Even more encouraging was my ability to fuel properly throughout, which is a crucial step as I prepare both physically and mentally for race day.

A huge thank you to Moggans for their ongoing support—not only have their socks made a real difference, but I’m also incredibly grateful for the time and effort they’ve invested in connecting me with Scott Sports SA . Thanks to that connection, I’ve now got some essential kit, including waterproof trousers that will be invaluable during the run. I’m also incredibly appreciative of Scott’s support of the project and for supplying the trainers I’ll be relying on throughout this journey.

Everything finally feels like it’s falling into place. Now it’s just about staying focused, keeping my head down, and continuing the work to get myself into the best possible condition—physically, mentally, and emotionally—for the challenge ahead.

This Friday, I’ll be heading to Manchester for some testing. That in itself will be a bit of a challenge—it’s out of my usual routine and involves trains, which can be a sensory minefield. I’m hoping for a quiet carriage so I can settle in and get through some university work during the journey.

Trust the process, don't fear the outcome.
