One week to go
One Week to Go – The Countdown to the North Coast 500
I can’t quite wrap my head around the fact that in just one week, I’ll be setting off to run the North Coast 500.
The past week has been a complete blur. I’ve actually had to scroll through my camera roll just to remember what I’ve been up to, it’s been non-stop. I clocked in 172 km of running last week, and now the taper has officially begun. That in itself is a strange challenge. Slowing down highlights just how close and real this adventure is becoming.
On top of that, I ticked off my final university presentation, one big step closer to becoming a qualified counsellor. It’s surreal. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t had fleeting thoughts like “Why didn’t I just book a holiday instead?” But then again… that’s not really me, is it? Maybe someday, but let’s be honest, it’ll probably still be an active holiday.
Right now, I’m slowly working through my final to-do list before I head off. Soon, that list won’t matter anymore. All that will matter is one thing: putting one foot in front of the other.
From this point on, I’ll be in my own little bubble. Focusing on my why. Tuning out the noise. Staying grounded.
I’ve created a message board for anyone who wants to share words of support. I’ll be reading through it before I set off—and I’ll carry those messages with me, especially during the darker moments when I need a boost. 👉 Message Board – Sara Runs the North Coast 500
I’ll post a short update on Tuesday with the live tracking link so you can follow along with the run if you’d like to.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported me so far, your encouragement means the world. x
