3 Weeks To Go

Three Weeks to Go Until I Run The North Coast 500

I’ve just wrapped up two big training days: 10 hours of running in total — 6 hours on Monday (split into 4 and 2 hours) and another 4 hours on Tuesday (split into 2 and 2), clocking up 116km. Honestly, I’m surprised by how okay my body feels. It’s nothing compared to what I’ll face in three weeks, but it’s still a huge confidence boost.

Right now, it’s all about what’s happening behind the scenes. I’m working closely with each person on my little team to make sure I’m as ready as possible. That includes sleep, nutrition, breathwork, running, strength, psychology, and bodywork. I might be the one running, but this is absolutely a team effort.

One of the biggest takeaways so far is realising just how much I still have to work on — especially the psychological side. That’ll be a focus after the NC. But honestly, that excites me. If I were already ‘perfect,’ then this would be my ceiling. But knowing there’s still so much room to grow — and imagining where that might take me — is pretty cool. I want this to be my reality, my life... dare I say it, my job (don’t worry, Mum and Dad — counselling is still part of the plan too).

For now, it’s about staying focused on the next three weeks.

I’ve also started a ‘daily diary’ for the 30-day countdown — short videos (no longer than 10 minutes) where I share reflections and rambles as I go through this final phase. You can watch this with the link below.
